These stoves are suitable for wood burning in 'Smoke Control Areas' as defined by local councils up and down the UK, needless to say Brighton and all the London boroughs are Smoke control areas. DEFRA stoves incinerate most of their smoke to the extent they are hard to see working when up to operating temperature. Another bonus is most DEFRA stoves operate on a 5" liner saving money on the installation.
